Written Assignment 8

This assignment is about an issue that concerns families in america , namely adoption .

Write a paper in response to each of the following questions. (The paper should be about 2 to 3 pages.)

  1. Should cross-racial adoption be allowed, meaning should people who identify themselves from one racial category be allowed to adopt children who are classified to be of another racial category? Answer the question and give an argument, critically, as to why you think so.
  2. Should single people (who identify themselves as heterosexual) be allowed to adopt children? Answer the question and give an argument, critically, as to why you think so.
  3. Should single people (who identify themselves as either gay, lesbian, bisexual or trangender) be allowed to adopt children? Answer the question and give an argument, critically, as to why you think so.
  4. Should same-sex couples be allowed to adopt children? Answer the question and give an argument, critically, as to why you think so.

Guidelines and policies:

  • Make sure your paper is well-organized into sections pertaining to each of the aforementioned questions.
  • Paper is due: Mon, November 20, 2000.
  • No late assignments are accepted.
  • Paper must be typed.
